Nileholic AnonymousBetween the original Fan Talk, Mobile Backstage and the new Nileholic facebook page it's a good time for the Willie Nile fan community. The River of Nile flows on!
Joanne Corsano I see we have a Facebook page now. I hope the folks who post here don't just desert this board in favor of the Facebook page. So little actual discussion goes on on Facebook. It's all "I saw Willie and he was great ... like like like like like like like."
On another note, I see Willie has some shows scheduled in Sweden. Sweden! That is so incredible. I hope he and the guys get to do at least some sightseeing. Sweden in July. The midnight sun. Have a great time, fellas!
Joey D.My name is Joe and I'm a Nileholic. I was at the Tralf May 4th and just like everyone else is saying - frigging unreal. You really had to be there to understand. When they opened with "Sing Me A Song" I think I wet myself. Never would have guessed I would hear this. It was something to behold. Willie and the band were on fire all night long. Classics, recent stuff and two that will be on the new album. "Holy War" was really heavy music, enjoyed it. The other one was called "American Ride" and was beautiful. I Can't wait for the new album to come out.
Every song was a highlight and I could write a 10 page thesis on what went down. That 15 regae jam was cool as hell. Really dug the songs off "Innocent Ones". First time I heard "Rich and Broken" and "Can't Stay Home" live... they killed both. The encore was relentless and took the crowd to ecstasy. I was singing "One Guitar" on my ride home from the show. I just couldn't shake it.
This was my first time seeing Willie's touring band - wow! The band was tight as hell and went were ever Willie took them. Thank You Willie Nile, Alex Alexander (drums), Johhny Pisano (bass), and Matt Hogan (guitar) for putting on the greatest rock concert I have seen. Please come back and do it again.

DANI HAVE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE LATE POST REGARDING LAST FRIDAY'S BUFFALO SHOW AT THE TRALF. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE BEEN RECOVERING IN A LOCAL HOSPITAL AFTER GETTING MY A#% KICKED BY FOUR GUYS NAMED WILLIE, JOHNNY,MATT AND ALEX!!!! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SHOW WILLIE AND HIS "NEW YORK BOYS" (AS HE REFERS TO THEM) PUT ON. JENNIFER FROM BURLINGTON COULD NOT BE MORE DEAD ON....THE SHOW WAS LIKE A 2 HOUR ENCORE FROM START TO FINISH. IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO EVEN TRY TO SAY ONE SONG OR ANOTHER WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE EVENING. IT IS THE FOURTH TIME I HAVE SEEN WILLIE NOW SINCE OCTOBER 1ST AND THE SHOWS JUST GET BETTER AND BETTER EACH TIME. THE NEW SONGS HE PLAYED FOR US THAT NIGHT INDICATE THAT HE JUST CAN'T HELP BUT WRITE GREAT MUSIC. VERY MUCH LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ALBUM COMING OUT LATER THIS YEAR. ONCE AGAIN.......MY NAME IS DAN ...AND I AM A NILEHOLIC!

JenniferI'm still recovering from Buffalo Show. Best concert I have ever seen. Live Rock N Roll in it's highest form. He opened with "Sing Me A Song" and crowd lept to their feet. He then kept his foot on the gas pedal and never let up. It was like one 2 hour encore. Every song was followed by all the Nileholics (including myself) going nuts. Can somebody please post a full setlist? Can't wait until the next Buffalo Show!

Bob & NormaLadies and gentleman and children of all ages. In exactly one week the eyes of the music industry will be focused on Buffalo New York. On Friday May 4th, Buffalo Hall of Fame musician Willie Nile makes his much anticipated return to his hometown for a concert at the Tralf.
Bring a life preserver and be ready to be engulfed in the Sunami known as the River of Nile!!!! For those of you that have seen previous Nile concerts you know to expect the unexpected. For Nile-Virgins, hard-hats are recommended as Nile & Company will be blowing the roof of the sucker!! Union workers from Local 210 will be working thru the wee small hours of the morning (great Sinatra song) to fix the damage. Whether you are 21 or 101, just be prepared for a show that you'll be talking about for a long time to come.
Doors open at 7pm, be there at 5pm!!!
Fri April 27th, 2012 17:29 PM NileVille, NY
DANONE WEEK AWAY........I DON'T THNK THE BOYS IN AC/DC HAD WILL IE IN MIND WHEN THEY WROTE: "....LOCK UP YOUR DAUGHTERS AND LOCK UP YOUR WIVES, LOCK UP THE BACK DOOR AND RUN FOR YOUR LIVES....THE MAN IS BACK IN TOWN...." BUT NOTHING COULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE FOR WILLIE'S RETURN TO BUFFALO AND THE TRALF ON 5/4/12. RUMOR HAS IT THAT THIS MAY BE THE LAST SHOW EVER AT THE TRALF BECAUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME WILLIE IS BRINGING HIS NEW YORK BOYS TO BUFFALO TO BACK HIM HERE AND NOBODY EXPECTS THE BUILDING TO BE STANDING WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE.
AS ALWAYS, NILEHOLICS WILL BE OUT IN FULL FORCE THAT NIGHT.....AND I KNOW PERSONALLY THAT NILEHOLICS ANONYMOUS HAS ASSURED THAT THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF WILLIE NILE VIRGINS IN THE AUDIENCE THAT NIGHT FOR WILLIE AND THE BOYS TO DEFLOWER!!! GET THERE EARLY AND PLAN ON STAYIN LATE.....

Listening to FADED FLOWER OF BROADWAY, and I gotta tell you that the last minute and a half of this tune makes my hair stand right up ... absolutely fantastic guitar interplay. But ... you blew it. This was a chance to make a 12-15 minute tune, a'la Beatles' I WANT YOU ... hell, I could listen to these guitars go on for a half hour ...
If you ever decide to redo this tune (maybe on a live recording?) give the last half of this tune some room to breathe -- it's brilliant, and deserves time and space to grow.
Keep up the incredibly great work. LOVE your music.
Chris

gareth coombesJust to endorse Pete's comments thanks to all those who turned out to support the brilliant Willie Nile and his band. We saw seven gigs on this tour, and each in their own way was superb. The one constant tho was the total commitment from the band and the enjoyment experienced by each crowd. Also the response shown to the fans with Willie not leaving until; every fan who wished was greeted and photographed with the great man personally.
come back soon Willie.

peteThank you Wille and the band, and also Micky kemp for a great tour and some fantastic nights. The highlights for me were the Tincklwick village hall were you had to leave the building cross the road to the nearest pub to get a drink and then take it back to the gig.
Last nights gig in Rislip was just a wonderful occation with the whole place rocking all through the gig. To have seen so many people come out on a Sunday evening to a venue that was not the most obvious place to have a great gig was fantastic.
The set was full of willie classics and his new song "Holly War"joins his list of great songs that thave something say.
For one of the last songs willie and the band were joined by Glem Matlock which was a great surprise and just added to the celebrations for the end of the tour.
